Univers

Ligeledes fremstillet i fynsk ahorn.

Universe

When we were given the task, to produce a cube, I came to think of what I've wanted to place in a box.

I remember as a 7-year-old having many sleepless nights wondering about the universe and infinity. This is an attempt to satisfy this childish urge to define something that cannot be defined.

The cube is made of Danish maple, lacquered with shellac. Inside the cube is a sphere consisting of two turned hemispheres, likewise made of Danish maple. The stars of the northern and southern skies are carefully placed on the two hemispheres. Earth and moon hover in the centre of the sphere. You're looking south by north.
